In 1981, he founded Weather Data, Inc., the Wichita, KS, private weather forecasting firm that provides weather forecasting, consulting, and weather risk management to companies and organizations around the US, Canada, and Mexico. The company was acquired by Accu Weather in 2006. Mike also wrote the books, When the Sirens were Silent and Warnings: The True Story of How Science Tamed the Weather.
